Following on from the official presentation of the MT-03, Yamaha unveiled its little sister, the MT-125.
This MT-125 2020 version retains its sharp look and aggressive design. Refined and ultra-compact, the front now has dual optics placed over a powerful LED lens, similar to the MT-03.
A new dashboard appears with a multifunction LCD display.
The Deltabox frame and swingarm are reshaped and the wheelbase reduced by 30 mm.
The new engine boasts one of the most advanced technologies for a 125cc with the VVA variable distribution system derived from the YZF-R125.
The VVA thus integrates two intake cams. The first provides up to 7,400 rpm for high usage and high performance at low and medium revs, while the second then takes over to bring the bike up to a maximum power of 10,000 rpm. An increase of 1,000 rpm over the previous generation.
Its consumption hasn’t fallen: 2.13 litres for every 100 km, contrary to the range because of the new narrower tank that loads only 10 litres of fuel or 1.5 litres less than the 2019 version.
The driving position has been revised to be more upright thanks to advanced footrests and raised handlebars.
The monoshock damper, the inverted fork, the new Deltabox frame and the aluminum swingarm bring a new balance and stability.
The Yamaha MT-125 starts at € 4,999 and is available in three colours: Ice Fluo, Icon Blue and Midnight Black.
