Having become a favorite destination for yachting lovers in the Mediterranean, Porto Montenegro announced at the 2019 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, various new investments for the next ten years.
In all, 500 million euros are to be invested over the next decade, in new developments and projects at the marina.
To date, only 35% of the 24 hectares that belonged to the Arsenal, a former Yugoslav naval base, have been exploited, according to Danilo Kalezic, public relations and marketing manager for Porto Montenegro.
500 million euros have already been invested and over the next 10 years, an additional 500 million euros will be invested to develop 50% of the remaining land.
The attractiveness of the destination is booming!
In 2019, the summer season was one of the most successful for Porto Montenegro.
The village has hosted many high level events, such as the first RC44 regatta.
But also the Gigayacht Captains Forum, the Sunreef Yachts meeting and the Gumball 3000 Supercar Rally.
Not to mention music and fashion festivals, wine tastings, and the first polo tournament organised in Montenegro.
In addition, all berths for yachts under 30 meters were fully booked during the summer of 2019 and total occupancy has increased by 11.5% compared to 2018, stated Danilo Kalezic.
We are looking forward to the continued development of Porto Montenegro which, with its magnificent marina on the turquoise waters of the Adriatic, has become the new Eden of luxury yachting.
And for those looking to arrive by air, many flights to and from Tivat Airport have been added this year, to facilitate access to this fabulous place.
